Throughout my life I have been exploring the truth about my emotional pains and the ways to eliminate those pains.

At the first stage of my exploration, I pursued spiritual enlightenment. At this stage, I benefited from Eastern mind-body-spirituality exercise – qi-gong. I also benefited from meditation and Jing-guan – a mindfulness practice. Consequently, through “turning my awareness inward”, I indeed transformed the pains in my life and gained some insights into my life.

At the second stage of my exploration, I learned about psychology and been trained in psychotherapy. As a result, I have obtained a MS in Psychology and a MA in counselling psychology (in progress). My personal mindfulness practice, with an emphasis on bodily sensations, particularly resonates with Eugene Gendlin’s Focusing and Peter Levine’s Somatic Experiencing, I also see mindfulness in psychodynamic approach, CBT, Gestalt therapy, and other Western schools of psychotherapy.

Now, as a Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying), I am at the beginning of a new stage. At this third stage of my exploration, I will not explore alone, I will accompany you, my client, to explore your pains and help you to see the truth in your pains. I will feel your pains and may guide you to work through your pains. My therapy will draw heavily from my personal journey towards inner peace and self-knowledge. It will also integrate wisdom from Eastern spiritual traditions and practices from Western psychotherapy traditions.

My psychotherapy could be delivered in English or Mandarin. Though I am open to working with people from different racial or cultural backgrounds, I feel most comfortable working with Asian clients, new immigrants and international students.
